Middle School Teachers Are Committed to a Safe Environment

The administration and middle school teachers are all committed to promoting our school wide rules of “Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe.”

To promote the importance of a respectful, responsible, and safe learning environment, middle school students who do not get a discipline referral are rewarded with a special field trip or event every quarter.

In addition, if a student does get a discipline referral, the following consequences will be given by administration:

First referral – student will receive a minimum of one day of “alternate placement” which means they still come to school, but do not participate in the normal middle school rotation. For more serious consequences, they can still be suspended out of school.

Second referral – student will receive a minimum of one day out of school suspension.

Third referral – student will receive a minimum of two days out of school suspension.

Please note that discipline referrals are the result of major infractions or continually breaking classroom rules.

Thank you for your support!

Parent Conferences and Middle School Sports

Parent conferences are this Thursday and Friday. Dismissal time is 11:30. This is a great time to talk to your teacher and find out how your child is doing in school. Be sure to check out the PTO book fair that is going on all week and during parent conferences. It's in the library.

The football and volleyball teams, comprised of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students, will play Picacho Elementary School at Picacho on Monday, September 29th, at 3:30 pm. Good luck to these student-athletes and a big thanks to all of their coaches.

Parent Information Night, September 16

What a great school year! We've gotten off to a great start so far. We're all moved into the "new" school, middle school swimming is coming to a close, middle school sports is just getting started, and next week will be Parent Information Night, which some of you might know as Open House.

I am looking forward to seeing all of you parents on Tuesday night, September 16th, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the new school. Due to the lack of space we don't really have a spot for large groups of people to congregate, so just have your child or children give you a tour of the school.

Come check out the classrooms, front office, computer lab, and library.

Hello from Myke

Welcome to my first attempt at blogging. I will update this blog once a week. You are welcome to add your two cents.

As we make the transition from the old building to the new school a lot of things will change. We’ll have cutting edge technology, a full size gym and hopefully a sports program for the middle school, a complete media center and library, as well as a lot of new staff members to help with the incredible growth we will be experiencing in the coming years.

What will not change is our commitment to students and to the educational excellence that has been a long standing tradition and expectation of Red Rock Elementary. We believe all students are unique and capable of success. We believe students need to be treated with dignity and should feel welcome in a safe and orderly environment.
